How we price it

Real numbers, dated, and total

What sits behind every cost range on this site, in plain terms.

We price the whole machine, not the sticker

The tag is a down payment. A gas mower burns fuel and needs blades, oil, and a spark plug. A standby generator needs a pad, a transfer switch, and a licensed install that costs more than the unit. So every cost page adds the running and ownership costs, not just the purchase price, because that's the number that actually hits your budget.

We price by type, then by tier

For most yard equipment, the type decides the cost long before the brand does. A push mower and a zero-turn aren't close, and a single-stage snow blower and a three-stage aren't either. We break each product into its real classes and give the honest range for each, so you can match the machine to your yard instead of your aspirations.

Every price is checked and dated

Ranges come from manufacturer pricing and major-retailer listings, not recycled from other blogs. Each page states when we checked and lists its sources. Because prices move with the season, promotions, and fuel and battery costs, every cost page carries a standing reminder to confirm the current price with the retailer before you buy, and we re-check the numbers on a schedule.

We don't sell the machines

Some links here are affiliate links, and they help keep the site free. They never change which machine we recommend. When the honest answer is "buy the cheaper one" or "rent it instead of owning it," that's what we'll say, even though it earns us nothing. Full detail is on the disclosure page.
